FAQ

Most frequent questions and answers for our poop scooping services. We have captured what our clients and customers often wonder about getting a weekly dog waste removal service in Pittsboro and distilled it into this long list of questions and answers!

Your Appointment

Before we arrive you’ll get a text message with our ETA and contact information for our service technician if ever needed.

We park out front, get our gear and then scoop your yard looking for dog poop by using a grid-method of searching – north to south, then east to west, so we don’t miss any hidden piles.

After scooping, we double bag up the dog waste, seal the bag airtight and deposit it into your trash can. If you’ve opted for the optional take-away service we take the poo with us. We then exit and ensure that all gates have been closed to prevent a pet escape, and finally, if you have a gate we take a photo and upload that as part of our completion project. You’ll receive notice a text and email that we’re done including that photo of your gate closed.

We double bag your dog waste, seal the bag airtight and discard it in your trash can or place it where you ask us to put it. If that’s not possible or desired, we can haul it away for a small, per week fee.

Absolutely. We are often working in folks yards while they’re at work. We can work with you to ensure we have access to your back yard and are able to provide our services without you being present.

Our system can accept gate codes for a combination lock or if your neighborhood is gated.

Our team loves dogs and would be happy to clean your property with them outside as long as they are friendly and allow us to do our job unimpeded. If they aren’t as friendly or simply make our job more difficult, we would prefer if you kept them inside until our services are complete. You know your pets best, if they are escape artists or unsure of strangers please leave them inside. We text prior to visiting your property, providing ample time to put the dogs in if needed.

We have refined our careful process to ensure we find every bit of dog poop on your property. We are trained in the art of dog poop removal and are committed to doing a thorough job. We walk in a grid-like pattern scanning back and forth to find every dropping. When we are done, we’ll do a second walk-through. You can rest assured that our services are backed by a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee — if you visit the yard after and feel things aren’t quite perfect, just call or text us immediately and we’ll work to make it right.

Bookings and Availability

Our service days are from dawn to dusk, Monday through Friday; however, our routes vary by geographic area. We will try to accommodate special scheduling requests, but that is not always possible. Call us and we can share what day or days of the week that we will be in your general area.

Exact timing of our visits is not common, since each scooping visit is unpredictable. We don’t know what we will encounter each week. One week, all dog waste may be found in one small geographic area in the yard and the next week, it may be spread out across the entire yard. Some weeks the dog waste may be solid and dry, and other weeks your dogs may have had digestive issues causing loose stool, so cleaning and sanitizing may take much longer. We would ask that you be flexible and allow us to visit as time permits on your assigned day, and if you have need for more specific timing one week, just ask.

One day prior to each visit we will send you an email and text reminder of your appointment, plus you will receive a text when our team is on their way, prior to arriving. (Text and data rates may apply to texts you receive.)

Circle City Scoopers, LLC will work through the rain and cold as long as we can safely do so. The customer understands we cannot work through severe thunderstorms, high winds, extreme high or low temperatures, flooding or an accumulation of snow or ice. Circle City Scoopers, LLC is a MONTHLY subscription service. We do not offer refunds for missed weeks due to weather. Therefore in these cases, we will skip service for that week, and see you the following week. A refund will not be issued as we still have to pick up all the waste that would have been scooped the prior week. If you need the area cleaned before your next scheduled service, please call us and we will do our best to accommodate, but cannot guarantee it. Additionally, we do not want to tear up your yard in any way. If it is really muddy, we may skip your yard and wait until the next scheduled visit when things have dried out.

We do not provide services on the following holidays: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day. If you pick up day falls on one of these days, we will skip service that week and pick up the following week. There are no refunds for a missed pick up. We still have “double doody” on our next visit, and will pick up all of the waste from the week prior.

Pricing and Payment

No, by accepting our terms and conditions and paying for our services, you are simply giving Circle City Scoopers implied permission to visit your property to pick up your dog poop and perform our other services as outlined in our Policies and Procedures. There is no minimum service commitment, and you may cancel anytime with a 24 hour notice.

You pre-pay for our service like any other subscription (think Netflix). Our online system will bill your card on file on the 1st of the month for that month’s services.

Your initial clean-up will be invoiced separately. We will also prorate your first month to only include payment for the visits we make during that first month.

If you’ve elected to have us haul-away your waste you will also see the charges associated with the previous month’s haul-aways, which are billed on a per visit basis. For example, if last month had 4 visits, you would see the charge for those 4 haul-aways on this month’s invoice.

As outlined during sign-up your initial visit may cost more if your hard has not been cleaned up in a while.

If we visit your yard and cannot gain access due to a locked gate, aggressive dog or other barrier to entry you will still be charged for our visit.

Late payment fee – $10 fee may be added to each bill that is late. Payment is due the 1st of each month. Bill becomes late on the 3rd of each month.

No! We charge the same for small or large dogs; however, we reserve the option to add an up-charge for unique situations (constantly loose stool, etc.). Sometimes people think that since their small dogs produce small poop, our service should be less expensive; however, often small dog poop the size of a Tootsie Roll is hard to find, especially when in a gravel or grass yard. We will advise you on our first visit if we need to modify our pricing prior to starting any service for you.

Yes. Our online payment system uses of Stripe, which is one of the world’s largest online payment processors. No critical credit card information is stored on our servers and all communication is encrypted with an SSL certificate.

We accept all major credit cards – Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. Prior to our initial visit we will securely collect your first payment via our website. Your credit card will be securely stored on file for all future transactions in our secure, Stripe.com encrypted vault. Please note that our scoopers are NOT allowed to accept cash, check or credit card payments at your home. You can visit our Client Hub where you can view past invoices, receipts, make payments and submit job requests also.

Trust and Safety

We work very hard to prevent any transfer of waste-borne disease by cleaning and disinfecting our hands, shoes, and rake tines and covering our entire scooping basket with a new trash bag before starting the next yard. By taking these extra precautions, we remove the possibility of cross contamination of waste-borne diseases like canine parvovirus from yard to yard. Plus, by helping you clean-up the dog poop in your yard, we eliminate odors and feces that attract flies, which love to transfer disease from yard to yard or from dinner plate to dinner plate.

We sure are! We carry liability insurance.

Yes – we back our pooper scooper services with a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. The team is very thorough and committed to making sure your property is free and clear of poop, but if for any reason you aren’t fully happy, just let us know within 24 hours of our visit and we’ll come back out to fix the problem.
